Sanctuary Docents:
Welcome visitors to the Center and into Lyford House, share site and Lyford history with visitors, set up bird scopes on Lyford porch or our overlook to engage visitors with our migrant and resident birds.

Volunteer Naturalists: Welcome groups (schools/troops) to our Center, familiarize groups with how to respect and explore the sanctuary, set-up field trip materials around the site, orient parent chaperones to the site/field trip protocol/material locations, may also lead games that reinforce environmental education/field trip concepts at the end of parent chaperone led programming. Volunteer naturalists are also invited to help lead school yard bird walks with elementary school children.

Interested in leading bird walks on site (experienced birders only) or at schools (no bird expertise required!)? Contact our Engagement & Operations Manager.
